La visita guidata inizia nella Place Royale, depositaria della classificazione dei vini operata nel 1855. Qui, conosceremo la storia del porto di Bordeaux e il suo ruolo nel commercio del vino, dal Medioevo fino alle epoche più recenti.

In seguito, ci recheremo in tram al Museo del Vino e del Negozio, situato in una cantina del XVIII secolo, in origine, la casa di un negoziante di vini. Approfondiremo la storia dei vini di Bordeaux e il ruolo dei negozianti nella loro elaborazione e distribuzione. Dopo aver visitato l’esposizione, avremo l’opportunità di degustare degli ottimi vini di Bordeaux nella sala di degustazione del museo.

Successivamente, passeggeremo lungo il quartiere dei Chartrons, quartiere storico, abitato 300 anni fa’ da mercanti di vino e bottai. Questo quartiere è oggi un luogo chic della città con i suoi caffè tipici e le piccole piazze di mercato. Per il suo charme atipico, il quartiere dei Chartrons potrebbe essere assimilato a quello del Le Marais di Parigi. Vedremo anche qualche vecchia cantina. Alcune, lunghe 300 m., erano state costruite per invecchiare e assemblare i vini di Bordeaux e, successivamente, sono state riconvertite in appartamenti, negozi, gallerie d’arte e università.
