The GR 20 Trail follows the mountains line that separate the island in two. The northern part is more alpine and demanding. The landscapes along the way are breathtaking, awesome and versatile, the Mediterranean sea always featured in the background.

PROGRAMME
Niveau : very athletic
Day 1: Ajaccio Tattone - Petra Piana
Appointment in the morning in Ajaccio. After the transfer to Tattone, you start your hike on the GR20 by walking up the valley of Manganellu. You spend the night in tent at Petra Piana.
Day 2: Petra Piana- Vaccaghja
Short morning climb to the pass at 2206 m. You continue along the ridges overlooking the lakes of Melu Capitellu to access the breach of Bocca a e Porte (2225 m), the highest passage of the GR 20. You spend the night in tent in Vaccaghja.
Day 3: Vaccaghja - Vergio
Continuing your journey, you cross a small beech forest. Stop at Lake Ninu, one of the "pearls" of the Corsican mountains, a paradise for horses that grasses there. Walking down the forest to Vergio. You spend the night in Hotel Castel di Vergio
Day 4: Vergio - Ballone
Change of scenery. You enter the volcanic massif of the Grande Barrière and climb up the high valley of Golo to the pass of Foggiale. You spend the night in tents to the bergeries Ballone.
Day 5: Ballone - Ascu Stagnu
The hike’s most outstanding experience with the most difficult assage of the week. This is a great moment of the GR20. You spend the night at Hotel Ascu Stagnu.
Day 6: Ascu - Bonifatu
By a short and steep ascent you reach the pass of Muvrella. You leave the mountain world and dive into the canyon Spasimata. The Mediterranean atmosphere is slowly increasing. Arriving Bonifatu, and transfer to Calvi.

FOLLOWING BAGGAGE :
You must always carry in your rucksack hot clothing, a rainwear, one gourd, an emergency case and your personal objects without forgetting part of the picnic. The baggage of assistance (the following baggage) is transferred by our assistance which you find certain evenings with lodgings accessible by road. It contains the businesses necessary to your stay (does not have to exceed 12 kg).
